Guilty pleasure: D list movies like Octoshark vs python lol
Here are the deep Qs 🤣
How did you get started in the lash industry? What drew you to becoming a lash artist?
-I was getting my lashes done at the time and my lash artist suggested I take a class. I always loved beauty and was looking for something new after I had quit my job as a child and youth worker due to burnout.
Can you share your journey as an entrepreneur in the lash industry? What challenges have you faced and how did you overcome them?
-My journey has been all over the place. I’ve been fortunate to do so many things like educate for a major lash brand, win a lash competition, work at a large salon, open my own salon and speak at international conferences. Now I’ve found my home making my clients feel beautiful and helping entrepreneurs work on the back end of their businesses and build unshakeable confidence.
What sets your lash business apart from others in the industry? How do you differentiate yourself and attract clients?
-I build true and long lasting relationships. I still have clients from my first week of lashing. I’m honest with my clients but I do let them steer the ship as far as what they want to get out of their appointment. Communication is key and I think we miss that sometimes.
What has been the single most influential experience since starting your career?
-This is really hard to name just one thing but speaking at Lashcon was really a huge moment. It felt like so many seeds I planted and connections I had made were paying off in big ways and seeing the community come together was special.
Can you share a memorable success story or achievement in your career that you are proud of?
-Deciding to build online courses. It’s given me the ability to connect with people all over the world and help them build an empire that feels good to them! And I’m just really proud of me and my willingness to keep going and figure it out!
As a content creator, what strategies do you use to create engaging and informative lash-related content for your audience?
-First and foremost I listen to the lash streets lol. What are people struggling with? What do they want to engage in? With content we’re pulled in 1000 different directions so we have to create content that is worthy of people’s time. I also just keep it real, I show the glamorous and messy sides of business and always show up as myself.
What are some common misconceptions about being a lash artist or entrepreneur in the beauty industry?
What advice would you give to someone who is considering starting their own lash business/brand?
-Be comfortable with being face forward in your business. More than the skill people are buying time with you it’s SO important for them to see the person behind the brand.
What's the funniest or most memorable experience you've had while working on a client's lashes?
-When I had my salon I had someone come and was poking around I asked them a few times if I could help them etc I was working on my client and all of a sudden she sat up with her eyes closed, eyepads on and said “if you’re not here for lashes then get out!”
They left lol
What are you super passionate about right now? (Anything at all, doesn’t have to be lash related. Share projects, products, etc. here)
-Working on my fitness and wellness. This journey has increased everything in my life in such a positive way I only wish I started sooner.
