The Secret to Extra Long Lasting Eyelash Extension Applications

The Secret to Extra Long Lasting Eyelash Extension Applications
What’s the ultimate goal of every lash artist?

Making your clients happy, of course!

A happy client is a client that comes back over and over… and hopefully tells their friends all about your services, too!

The more happy your client is, the better your business will do. So, with that in mind, what makes a client happy?

Beautiful, bold, long lasting lashes!

There are a bunch of things you can do to help your client’s lashes last longer (using a solid adhesive, for starters😉), but today we’re going to focus on a quick one that a lot of people forget or skip:

Washing your clients’ lashes!

We all know the hope of clients coming with "clean lashes" is NOT ENOUGH.

Washing your clients’ lashes before you start is a great way to ensure the adhesive works optimally.

Adhesive loves a good, clean surface. That helps it stick! Your client’s lashes may have residue or debris (like old mascara). This gets in the way of the adhesive and makes it more difficult for it to work.

When you clean your client’s lashes first, you’re ensuring that the surface is primed for adhesive to work.

Now, there’s a right way and a wrong way to clean your client’s lashes. If you over clean, you risk harming their eyes or making it moredifficult for the adhesive to stick.

Here’s the right way:

  1. Use a lash cleaner (like this one) to wash clean the lashes before you start applying extensions.
  2. Clean from the tip of the lash all the way down to the eyelid.
  3. Rinse gently with water or saline.
  4. Pat the lashes dry. You’ll want to gently pat them so that they’re dry, but not toodry. A little bit of leftover moisture helps the adhesive stick.
  5. START LASHING!!!

* Bonus: Try rinsing lashes with warm water or saline. This will help open up the hair follicle, which will improve the bond.

Once you’re done, let your clients know that they should continue to wash their lashes and keep them free of oil build-up. That will help the set last longer!

That’s it!

Taking this simple step will help improve retention and give your clients’ a better experience… making them excited to come back for more!

Lash nerd, over and out. ✌️
